Since I started Prismatic Cauldron, my creative work has lived almost entirely on social media and Etsy. Finished pieces, progress shots, the occasional caption trying to say something meaningful in a very small box.

But creativity doesn’t really work in small boxes (especially for me—I’m too chaotic for that).

The Prismatic Cauldron website exists because I needed a space that could hold more—more thoughts, more process, more half-formed ideas, and yes, probably more than a few creative rants along the way.

This blog is a home for everything that happens around the art.

I work primarily with paint, water, and reclaimed glass, letting movement and chance play an active role in the final result. That same mindset shows up in how I think about creativity in general. I’m deeply interested in process—how ideas form, how they change, and how sometimes the best work comes from letting go of control instead of tightening your grip.

Alongside visual art, I’m also a reader and a writer. Books, stories, and the act of creating your own worlds have shaped how I see creativity just as much as paint and color have. Here, I’ll be sharing thoughts on the creative writing process and the things I’ve learned from reading both professional and amateur works, as well as dabbling in writing myself. I’ll be honest—I have been known to rant about the psychology that makes a hero versus a villain, how one wrong move in a hero’s life could turn them into a villain, and how sometimes the person you think is the hero is actually the villain when you look more closely at their motivations and actions.

…See? A rant.

Some posts will be about my artwork: how a piece came together, what I was thinking while making it, or why something didn’t turn out the way I expected.

Others may focus on creativity more broadly—reading, writing, inspiration, burnout, and the quiet, messy realities of making things by hand and by heart.
This isn’t meant to be polished or perfect. It’s meant to be honest.

Prismatic Cauldron is a place for experimentation, reflection, and transformation—of materials, of ideas, and sometimes of perspective. If you’re someone who loves the process as much as the finished piece, or who enjoys peeking behind the scenes of creative work, you’re very welcome here.

Thanks for being part of the beginning.
